The juxtaposition of a super-heroine going about her business in the middle of a mundane situation intrigued me. I also loved playing with some comic visual cues like outlines and flat tones.

This is a personal piece, not commissioned by Marvel. The character Emma Frost, aka the White Queen, and the Spiderman logo are property of Marvel Comics.

I am no artist, strictly an amauter comic collector, and yet, this work reminds me of Alex Ross pieces, showing a superhero doing mundane tasks.

Even so, Emma is a powerful corporate executive, and those two guys with the suits could be her bodyguards (she doesn’t need them, but is part of her trade) and like Ervaldez comments, that guy at the upper right could be Steve Rogers, and with some imagination the guy just behind him is Peter Parker.

And as always, Emma is stopping the traffic!

I've been a fan of Alex Ross's work for years so I'm not surprised if there's some similarities. Maybe I am a fan of his work because there are similarities, hmm. Steve Rogers and Peter Parker you say? How about that ;)

Your reflection about Alex Ross and the similiarities your works share reminds me of a phrase by Scott Adams:

"Most people's definition of genius is 'thinks like me, but more so.'"

And well, are they Cap and Spidey, or is only my fanboyish imagination?
